COVID-19
The Board of Management is constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are aware and understand that many of our members would like to be able to get out on the greens, particularly with the isolation and weather we have had over the past couple of months.
We have recently been advised by Bowls SA, in consultation with the South Australian Government and the latest directive put in place by the South Australian State Co-ordinator Emergency Management, Commissioner Stevens, that bowling club greens may be open with strict guidelines being in place. In part, advice from Bowls SA reads “Making an assessment of whether a safe exercise environment can be provided depends on a range of factors, which apply differently at each venue – it is the responsibility of each Bowls Board of Administration to make that assessment based on their local environment on whether to remain closed or restrictively open.”
Pending further information, members of the BoM will meet next week to discuss if/how we can open the greens to allow limited access for our members, also being fully compliant with the SA Government Legislation and Bowls SA advice and guidelines as stated. This includes, but not limited to the strict social distancing and hygiene practices, and duty of care to our members, none of which can be taken lightly, and will take time to implement.
Our Website and Facebook page will be regularly updated with the latest information.
In the meantime, rest assured members of the BoM are doing all we can in the best interests of our members and the Club, and all decisions made affect us all.
Please stay safe and well, and keep in touch with family, friends and neighbours.
Best wishes to you all.
Nola Manuel
Administration Secretary
