CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19)
On behalf of the Board of Management, I would like to reassure all members that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and the impact it may be having on our members. We are in constant contact with Bowls SA, Clubs SA and other relevant authorities and will continue to update you of any changes.
Numerous requests have been received from Club members with regard to opening the greens for practice, and whilst it would be great to be able to do so, this decision is no longer ours to make. An email received from the Emergency Management (Non-Essential Business and Other Activities No. 4) (COVID-19) Direction 20 and signed on the 15th April 2020 by Grantley Stevens, State Co-ordinator, has made it very clear that we are not permitted to open our greens. (Click on the document link for further information) This has also been confirmed in an email from Clubs SA. In line with this, Jim Terrington, Greens Manager, has advised the greens will remain closed until further notice.
We will continue to keep members informed with what is happening within the Hope Valley Bowling Club.
- The new automatic sliding door has been installed and looks great. This will be a real benefit to many guests coming to the Club to enjoy our Friday night dinners.
- Bob Fuss, Bob Klose and Dick Murdoch continue to maintain the garden and surrounds to their very high standard.
- Torrens Valley Christian School Maintenance men have trimmed the branches of the trees overhanging into the roadway to the Club.
- We wish a speedy recovery and good health to Don Phillips, Trevor Rogers and Mavis Bauer who have recently been unwell.
Our Website and Facebook page will be regularly updated with the latest information.
In the meantime, please stay safe and well, and keep in touch with family, friends and neighbours.
Best wishes to you all.
