Jim Bell:

We are saddened at the recent passing of our esteemed member and friend Jim Bell, and offer our sincere condolences to Coralie and family.Funeral arrangements will be posted on our website and Facebook page following the family funeral notice.

This coming season our coach, Gary Davies, will be emphasising individual performance improvement rather than game-plan and strategy as was the case last season.

Over the next few weeks bowlers who wish to work on their bowling in the off season or whom selectors (Warren Taylor, Ken Seymour & Andrea Williams) are considering for the top 2/3 sides shall be asked to meet with the coach in small groups.

Initially the coach will meet with up to 6 bowlers at a time to:-

• go through his plan,
• review individual techniques and (if needed)
• provide recommendations for individual practice/training.

30 minutes has been allocated for this activity and bowlers shall be notified of the date/time of scheduled small group meetings they are invited to attend.

SOLE SELECTORS 22/23 SEASON

After receiving two nominations for the Sole Selector positions, I can confirm the two nominees have accepted the following roles:

1. Ken Seymour shall be Sole Selector for the Wednesday Men’s Pennant competition.
2. Warren Taylor shall be Sole Selector for the Saturday Open Gender Pennant competition.

I congratulate both Warren and Ken on the acceptance of their appointments and look forward to working with them as we progress towards next season. 

The plan from here is:

• Next Men’s Committee meet 17th May.
• Meet with coach Gary Davies to plan practice/training sessions and pre‑season trials. 
• Once the trials commence you may be designated as a “Selection Adviser” for the side you are selected in. The effectiveness of each Sole Selector will rely heavily on good feedback being received from Selection Advisers each week.
